Volunteer Leadership

Want to develop your leadership skills and get people involved in building our community? All Volunteer Marin projects and teams are led by our amazing Volunteer Leaders.

Project Leader (Flexible Volunteer Program)

[Flex] Project Leaders are volunteers who are committed to service and ready to take the next step in volunteering. A Project Leader helps establish a sense of community as they oversee ongoing volunteer projects. Project Leaders work closely with Volunteer Marin and our partner nonprofit agencies to create and sustain high impact [Flex] projects that meet critical education, human services, and environmental needs throughout the county and bring them into the community. Being a Project Leader is a fun and rewarding way to volunteer and lead others in the joy of service. Project Leaders can either “adopt” one of our ongoing [Flex] calendar projects or create a volunteer project of your own and serve as the main point of contact for that project to our volunteers and the Community Partner representative.

BoardMatch Marin Coordinator
BoardMatch Coordinators connect prospective board candidates with Marin nonprofits that are in need of board members, while learning about and developing relationships with over 100 Marin organizations.

Matchmakers (1:1 Volunteer Matching)

Our volunteer counselors, the "Matchmakers", have conversations with potential volunteers to help them navigate the field of volunteerism in Marin. Volunteer Marin ensures continual support and training to equip the matchmakers with the knowledge needed to perfectly connect potential volunteers to opportunities throughout the County.

Committee leaders (special Events and Committees)

Each year the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership hosts the Marin Human Race, the Marin Designer's Showcase, and holds the Heart of Marin Awards. Volunteer leaders can be involved in the planning and organizing of these events, or serve on a standing committee at the Center such as the Marketing Committee or Volunteer Program Development Team.
