[Flex]Flexible Volunteer Program
The Flexible Volunteer Program (Flex) provides volunteers with a calendar of meaningful service projects organized by CVNL in partnership with local nonprofits. Flex projects are designed specifically to make the most out of volunteers' time, which means Flex projects meet real community needs and have a measurable impact from beginning to end. Flex projects cover a wide array of impact areas, such as literacy, housing/homelessness, environment, education, food/basic needs, healthy aging and special events.
Flex Projects:
- Require no prior training or experience
- Require no on-going or long term commitment
- Are group and family friendly
- Often occur on the evenings or weekends
- Have trained project leaders who available to answer questions, provide directions, and give support as needed
- Involve direct, hands-on activities and make a measurable impact
Volunteering with Flex is easy:
After registering with Volunteer Marin, you will be able to sign up for a full calendar of Flex Projects. Once you are signed up for a project, a trained Flex Project Leader will email you with all the important details (directions to the project, what to bring, etc.) and will be with you on site to answer questions and support you!
All volunteers under the age of 18 participating in the Flex Program must bring a youth waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
If you are serving court-ordered hours, please see our Court Appointed Hours section in our FAQs to read important instructions for how to complete your hours.

Flex Cancellation Policy: It is extremely improtant that volunteers notify us before the project, if they are unable to attend. We plan each project carefully according to the number of volunteers needed. If you can not make it, we would like to fill your spot with another volunteer to ensure there are enough people present. If you CANNOT make the project pleast let the Volunteer Marin staff know at least 24 hours in advance (72 hours if you are a group of 3 or more). If you violate our cancellation policy 3 times, you will be removed from our registration process.
